Guihua Zhu

Guihua Zhu ( Academic Director) Guihua has been a high school department head and teacher for over 15 years in China and also taught economy and business management classes for senior executives at Fuzhou Executive Leadership Business School. She has created numerous teacher and student programs which are still being used at her prior school.

Guihua has a BA degree from Hangzhou Business College in China, and has completed the Specialist Teachers' Training Program - Academic System and Development at Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore. She has received many teaching awards including certificates for business and economy, e-business, psychology and Beijing's Teachers Training Program for Hotel Management. Guihua has also earned a certification of Standard Mandarin issued by China’s Department of Education. She lives with her husband in Norwalk, CT.


Sharon Lum (Business & Communications Director) - Sharon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of New York at Albany. She has taught English to adults and children abroad and has also taught Mandarin Chinese in the U.S.  Previously, she worked for over ten years with an international trading company.  Sharon lives in Harrison, NY with her husband and two sons, and she has been a CLSC parent since 2006..


Jack Provoost (Treasurer) - Jack has more than 30 years of finance and accounting experience, and left GTE Corporate in 1999 to open his own accounting and bookkeeping business. His current clients include Diane's Books, Greenwich; Party Arts, South Norwalk; and the Haircut Place, Greenwich.


Katy Myers (Art, Culture and Community Outreach Director) - was born in Taiwan (ROC) and came to US is 1971. She is a graduate of Parson's School of Design and has worked as assistant and substitute teacher for grades pre-K, K and I in Redding Elementary School. Katy lives in Redding CT with husband Tom and daughter Emily. Katy has been with CLSC since its inception in 2002 and has taught a variety of classes.

Ru Chen Ru Chen (Program Director) Ru comes from Beijing, China. She speaks standard Chinese and is well versed in the current culture and education of both China and the U.S. Ru lived in Beijing for over twenty years and received a BA in English and shipping. She worked with a Canadian marketing company and a Swiss trading company in Beijing prior to coming to the U.S. Ru is very responsible, enthusiastic and enjoys working with people, especially young adults. All of her students are more and more interested in Chinese at her encouragement. Ru has a winning personality and is well liked in many communities.
